It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Isiah "Zeek" Samuel of Darlington. Mr. Samuel expired on Monday, August 31, 2020 in McLeod Hospice House.
Funeral service is 11AM on Friday, September 4, 2020 in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow. Mask wearing and social distancing is required.

Mr. Isiah Samuel was born in Darlington, SC on July 15, 1947 a son of the late Matthew Samuel, Jr. and Betty Lee Coe Samuel. He departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2020 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools where he attended Spaulding High School in Lamar, SC.
He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where he attended all of his life.
In 1965, Isiah moved to Paterson, New Jersey where he was gainfully employed for more than 20 years. In 1985, he returned home to Darlington where he was employed at Carolina Table Manufacturing Company in Lamar until retiring.
“Zeek”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a quiet and humbled person. He loved listening to the oldies, watching western shows and singing around the house. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are: his brother, Melvin (Calperta) Samuel of Darlington, SC; two sisters, Betty Ann Samuel of Darlington, SC and Cinda Black of Florence, SC; five aunt, Rosena Samuel, Mary Lee Samuel both of Darlington, SC, Margie Samuel of NY, Jackie Graham and Celestine Samuel both of Baltimore, MD; two uncles: John Waller of Philadelphia, PA and Warren Holley of NC; a special cousin like sister, Debbie Carter of Darlington, SC; nieces and nephews: Timothy (Michelle) Samuel, Alex Black, Austin (Jonelle) Black, Margie Coe, Anthony Samuel and Ariana Samuel; a host of cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Herbert Samuel and Edward Samuel.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 1460 South Center Road, Darlington.
