Mr. Glennon “Glen” Johnson Obituary

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Johnson family share the transition of Mr. Glennon “Glen” Johnson of Darlington. Mr. Johnson passed on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at his residence following a brief illness. 

Funeral service is 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Faith Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow.  

Obituary

Mr. Glennon Johnson was born in Florence, SC on October 6, 1961 a son of Lucille Johnson and the late Albert Lewis, Jr.  He entered into his final resting place on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at his residence.

He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System graduating from St. John’s High School Class of 1979.

He lived all of his life in Darlington where he was gainfully employed at Youngs Pecan Company in Florence, SC and lastly at Griffin Painting Company until his health failed.

“Glen”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, passion was keeping his truck clean no matter what the season was. Those tires would be shining! He also love the Dallas Cowboy but when they was losing he would turn the channel and remove the Cowboy license plate from his truck.  But mostly he loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren, Family meant the world to him.

On July 2, 1982. Glennon was united in marriage to the former Miss Sheila Mack and to this union two children were born, Lamontril “Tril” and Brittany.

Those left to cherish his memory are:  his loving wife, Sheila M. Johnson of Darlington, SC; three children: Lamontril “Tril” Mack (Cierra), Brittany Johnson and Shanatica Johnson all of Darlington, SC; his mother: Lucille Johnson Suber of Darlington, SC; three granddaughters: Gabrielle Johnson, Brianna Mack and Tytianna Mack; one grandson, Bryson all of Darlington, SC; two sisters: Tonya (Marcus) Woodson and Annie Mae Bailey both of Florence, SC; a brother, Kenneth (Francina) Johnson of Darlington, SC; his mother-in-law, Maxine Mack; his grandmother-in-law, Annie Mae Daniels; three aunts: Queen Ester (Larry) Davis, Edith (Ernest) Joyner, Cassie (Richard) McRae all of Darlington, SC;  his sisters-in-law, Annie Ruth Dubose, Fannie (Glen) Evans, Peggy Ann Mack and Rosa (Anthony) Robinson; one brother-in-law, Willie (Vanessa) Mack; a very special niece, Vanessa Hodges (who cooked dinner every Sunday); a special friend, Tyrone Ross; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his sister, Martha Ann Kelly; his grandparents: Minnie Johnson and General “Darby” Johnson and a god-son, De’caprio Na’shon “Capo” Collins.

Visitation is held at the residence, 1528 Indian Branch Road, Darlington, SC.
