With heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Wallace family announce the passing of Mr. Frederick Wallace of Darlington, SC. Mr. Wallace transitioned Saturday, April 19, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC, after an illness.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the residence, 1011 Lennon Ave, Darlington, SC.
A celebration of life will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Lawson Grove Baptist Church, 3585 Lawson Grove Church Rd, Hartsville, SC.
Obituary
Mr. Frederick Delone Wallace was born May 24, 1971 in Darlington, South Carolina a son of Rosa James Wallace and Edgar Wallace. He peacefully departed this life on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Mcleod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System graduating from Mayo High School with the Class of 1989. He worked various jobs until his health declined.
“Fred” was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who dearly loved him.
Those left to cherish his memories are: his mother, Rosa J. Wallace of Darlington, SC; his father, Edgar Wallace of Darlington, SC; his three brothers: Paul James, Aldric Wallace and Anthony Wallace all of Darlington, SC; his one sister: Lucille Byrd “Willie” Hannibal of Darlington, SC; several aunts and uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents Robert “Bob” James and Rosetta James; his paternal grandparents Boykin Wallace, Sr. and Carrie Lee Wallace; his sister, Cassandra “Princess” Regina Wallace; five uncles: Eddie Jacobs, John “Jay” James, Robert “Caveman” James, Jr., Eugene Wallace, and Boykin Wallace, Jr.; and three special cousins: Jermain “Mar Luv” Berry, Andra “JuJu”Berry and Roland “Bolo” Bruce and a close friend from MHS C/O 89 Lydell Jackson.
