Mr. Fred Brown

It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Brown family announces the passing of Mr. Fred Brown of Darlington.  Mr. Brown passed on Saturday, July 8, 2023 following an illness. 

Memorial Service is 11:00AM on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Flat Creek Baptist Church. 

Obituary

    “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”   2 Timothy 4:7-8

    Mr. Fred Brown was born on November 15, 1960 in Darlington, South Carolina, a son of the late Mr. Roosevelt Perkins, Sr., and Mrs. Easter Mae Brown Brockington. Mr. Fred transitioned on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee following an extended illness. 

    Fred lived and worked all of his life in Darlington County.  He was employed with Oneal Farms in Darlington, South Carolina and took great pride in the service he rendered in the agriculture business. He loved the Lord and was often heard praising God and encourage, Rev… to preach.. Before his heath decline, he was a faithful worshipper at the Round O Missionary Baptist Church. Fred was a loving individual that enjoyed life to be the fullness.  His greatest joy was spending time with children and grandchildren and being the jokester that he was. He also loved his Washington Redskins!

    He is survived by his children: Patricia Graham, Eddie(Shoran) Graham, Frederick Graham, Nikki McFarland, Kevin(Latoya) Brown, Derrick (Bridget) Graham, Willy (Letitia)Brown, Helena Graham, Roosevelt (Kelsey) Graham, Jimmy(Colisha) Graham, Starnesha (Diwaun) Bacote; his siblings:  Bobbie Brockington, Roosevelt Perkins Jr., James Perkins, Tommy Perkins, Willie Mae Ings, Jamie Jackson, Laura Jackson, Craig and Terry Brown; grandchildren:  Trinity Brown, Serenity Brown Liberty Brown, Joeleecy Brown, Derrika Graham, Arionnia Graham, Justin Graham, Jahmayh Burns, Dakauri Brown, Kaleeya Brown, Omari Brown, Kalayah Robinson, Kalijah Robinson, Kaylah Robinson, Taylor Graham, Malaysia Graham, DiAisha Bacote,  Ja’nasia Graham and Antwain Graham; uncles: Moses (Virginia) Perkins and Bobby Boston; aunts: Helen Adams, Sarah Perkins, Carrie Tedder and Marie Fletcher; special nieces: Anquanette and Haley Brockington; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 1517 Jamonica Drive, Darlington.
