It is with heartfelt condolences that the management and staff of Mitchell- Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Frankie Price of Florence, SC, formally of Lamar, SC. Mr. Price passed on Monday evening, November 8, 2021 in McLeod Hospice House.
Funeral service is 3:30 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Plaza Memorial Cemetery. Interment will follow. Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing. Public viewing will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 12 Noon until 5:00PM.
Obituary
Mr. Frankie Elijah Price was born September 15, 1948 in Lamar, South Carolina the beloved son of the late Edgar Price and Lidar Mack Price.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Darlington County graduating from Spaulding High School, Class of 1969. He furthered his education at Florence-Darlington Technical College where he earned his welding certification.
Frankie retired from a 30-plus year career as a professional welder, often mentoring up- and -coming welders over the course of his career.
Frankie earned his wings on Monday, November 8, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lidar Price; his father, Edgar Price; a special aunt, Evelyn Mack; his sister, Marjoree Price Martin; his brother, Harry Price; his sister, Evelena Byrd and his brother, Richard Price.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three children: Angelina Brown, Yedda Price and Kimberly Price; three grandchildren: Ja’Quwon Brown, Juston Brown and Kiera Brown; five great-grandchildren: Jordan Brown, J’oye Brown, Juston Brown, Jr., Justice Brown and William J. Brown; two brothers: Gerald (Sondra) Price and Benny Price; a sister, Louise Pettigrew; an uncle, William "Bill" Mack; two aunts: Sally (Aaron) Green and Catherine Reid; two special nieces: Cynthia Lighty and Twannia Price; two special friends: Freddie McMichael and Reverend James McDaniel; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to Gerald Price, Louise Pettigrew, Cynthia Lighty, and Twannia Price.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of a niece, Cynthia Lighty, 204 Pine Street, Lamar, SC.
