It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Frank Patterson, better known as Big Rabbit of Darlington. Mr. Patterson passed on Saturday, January 16, 2021 in McLeod Hospital.
Funeral service is 1:00pm on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in the church yard of Mt. Rona Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Frank Edward Patterson, Jr., who was affectionately called, “Rabbit”, was born August 12, 1953 in Darlington County, SC a son of the late Frank Edward Patterson, Sr. and Ida Mae Miles Patterson. He transitioned from this life on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC after an illness.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools.
At an early age, he joined the Mt. Rona Baptist Church. He rededicated his life back to the Lord and was baptized at Mt. Rona Baptist Church where he was a part of the Security Team and served faithfully. “Rabbit” was a proud father, Papa who loved his family, hanging out at the local store with friends, enjoyed cooking, pretty good cook and gardening in which he had a green thoub for plants.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his son, Willie Bernard Jackson (Kimberly); two special grandsons: Ricardio Jamal Jackson and Cameron Doriko Jackson; one precious great grandchild, Zaria Jackson all of Darlington County, SC; two loving brothers: Ernest (Adline) Patterson and Willie (Tonya) Patterson; four dedicated sisters: Marilyn (Anthony) Sawyer, Deborah P. Jones, Shelia P. Coker and Sharelle (Paul) Landingham all of Winston-Salem, NC; three step-daughters, Sylvia (Cleveland) Keith, Dolores Sweet Jackson and Christine Jackson all of Darlington County, SC; 11 step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; special friends: Darelle Hunter, Monte Smith and Saundra Hunter all of Darlington, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
