With heartfelt sympathy, Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home and members of the Davis family announce the passing of Mr. Eddie Lee Davis of Darlington, SC. Mr. Davis transitioned Saturday, December 6, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.

The family will be receiving friends at 1817 Amoretta Drive, Darlington, SC, starting Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Wesley Chapel UMC, Lydia Hwy, Hartsville, SC. Interment will follow at Faith Memorial Gardens, Rogers Rd, Darlington, SC.

Obituary

    Mr. Eddie Lee Davis was born January 3, 1954 in Darlington, South Carolina a son of the late Roy Ross, Sr. and Connell Brunson.  He departed this life Saturday, December 6, 2025 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

    He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System.

    He lived all of his life in Darlington County where he was gainfully employed as a farmer.

    “Bobby” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was united in marriage to the late Mary Alice Johnson Davis.

    Those left to cherish his memories are: his three daughters: Kathleen Waiters, Suwanda Waiters and Londell Johnson all of Darlington, SC; three bonus sons: Bruce Brown, Charles Brown and Thomas Brown all of Darlington, SC; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings:  Leroy Ross, Jr., David Ross, Willie Boseman, Annette (Timothy) Postell, Lisa Mae (Terrence) Hall and Loretta (Donald) Williams, Sr. all of Baltimore, MD; a special sister, Sara Margaret Johnson Smith of Hartsville, SC; a sister-in-law, Edell Johnson of Darlington, SC; a brother-in-law, Luther “Mann” Johnson of Darlington, SC; a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    He was preceded in death by:  his siblings:  Earnest Ross, Joseph Ross and Terry Ross; a special brother, George Johnson, Jr.
