Mr. Donny Belin

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Donny Belin of Hartsville. Mr. Belin transitioned on Friday,  January 01, 2021 in Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville. 

Funeral service is 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in the Church Yard of Christ Temple Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Faith Memorial Gardens. 

Obituary

    Mr. Donny Lee Belin was born on October 18, 1964 a son of Azilee McElveen Belin and the late Abron Belin, Sr.  He transitioned from this life on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville, SC after a brief illness. 

    He was affectionately known as, “Don” or “Big Dust” to those that loved him.  Don graduated from Hartsville High School Class of 1983.  He was employed at Morrell Nursing Home for a number of years.  Don resided in New Jersey and Columbia, SC for some years and devoted a number of years working with his nephew, Antonio Smith. 

    Don was a member of Christ Temple Holiness Church in Darlington, SC.

    He was preceded in death by: his father, Abron Belin; his twin brother, Danny Belin; his sister, Wanda Belin; his nephews: Larry Hough, Jr. and Jerry Lamont Cole.

    Don will be most remembered for his love for his family, cooking, family gatherings, cooking shows and talking junk.

    Don leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Azilee McElveen Belin Jefferson of the home; his brothers: Abron (Shirley) Belin, Jonathan (Patricia) Belin, Solomon (Barbara) Belin all of Hartsville, SC, Wesley (Betty) Belin of Darlington, SC, William (Emma) Belin of Bishopville, SC and David (Catherine) Belin of the home; his sisters: Louise Williams, Janie Hough both of Columbia, SC, Dyal Hough of the home, and Mary (Hezekiah) Davis of Darlington, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews;  his aunts: Alizer Belin, Deborah Belin, Aundrie Gilliam and Delois Hughes; his uncles: Eugene McElveen, Carl McElveen, William McElveen, A. John Belin and Frank Green; a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 2210 Apache Dr., Hartsville. Please adhere to mask wearing when visiting the residence.
