With heartfelt sympathy, Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home and members of the Green family announce the passing of Mr. Danver "Bill" Green of Darlington, SC. Mr. Green transitioned Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence, 2909 Southborough Rd, Darlington, SC.

Public viewing will be 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, 612 S Main St, Darlington, SC.

Funeral service will be held 11:30 AM, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at New Zion Baptist Church #1, 2826 Cale Yarborough Hwy, Timmonsville, SC. Interment will follow at Hart No. 2 Cemetery, Timmonsville Hwy, Darlington, SC.

Obituary

    Mr. Danver Green, lovingly known to family and friends as “Bill”, was born in Lake City, SC on February 20, 1938 the son of Ivory and Letha Mae Brown Green. He was the 3rd oldest of 9 children. He entered his final resting place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. 

    Bill was united in marriage to Rosa Mae McKithen(deceased) in 1954 and they were blessed with 5 children: Gladys “Eltha Mae” McKithen (Vincent); Danver Green, Jr.(Dorothy); Wilson Green (Deborah); Letha Mae Green (Ernest);and Lee Green (Lutricia). His family tree branched out to include 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

    Bill loved the outdoors and working the land. He was a farmer and gardener, and he enjoyed fishing, dancing (he enjoyed a good party in his youth
