“Life Reflections”

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change: courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.”    ~ Psalm 91

Brother Charles “Snake” Goodson was born in Darlington, SC on April 11, 1951, a son to the late James Goodson and Alice Lide Goodson. He was later reared by the late Emma Black Goodson. He left his earthly life and entered into eternal life on Monday, January 15, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Goodson was educated in the Darlington County Public Schools. He lived most of his life in Darlington County. He was employed with Seal Test Milk for many years and later did construction work.

“Snake” leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Georgia Rouse Goodson; three children: Melissa and Kendrick Goodson of Darlington, SC and Charles (Akina) Goodson Jr. of San Diego, California. He has five grandchildren: Rashawn, Marquise, Jaquez, Jaqorie, and Ke’sean. Charles leaves four siblings: Robert (Marlene) Goodson of Jacksonville, Florida, Mae (Marcus) Hudson, Betty “Pat” Goodson and Reverend Barbara Pickard all of Darlington, SC. Charles also leaves his mother-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Rouse and an uncle, Clarence Muldrow. Four siblings preceded Charles in death: James, Richard, Johnny and Freddie Goodson.

“Snake” was one of a kind. He would sit back and observe then later give his opinion. Snake referred to his friends as his gooms and that always sparked laughter amongst him and his nieces and nephews. Snake had a quite spirit on most occasions. He also had a big heart and was always willing and ready to share what he had with others at all times.
