It is with heartfelt condolences that the management and staff of Mitchell- Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Bobby Flowers. Mr. Flowers passed on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in McLeod Hospice House following an illness. 
 

Service will be held 12 Noon Thursday at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 320 W Fulton St.
Sumter, SC 29150 with Dr. Cantrell Woods, Officiating and Bishop Bobby L. Flowers, Jr., Presiding. 

Obituary

    “For now I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto allthem also that love His appearing.”                        II Timothy 4:6-8

     Mr. Bobby Lee Flowers was born in Sumter, South Carolina on March 7, 1942 a son of the late James Lee Flowers and reared by Clausie and Marie Flowers Chisolm.  He entered into his eternal rest on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC. 

    He received his formal education in the Orangeburg County School District.

  Bobby was employed at Giant Resource Recovery as a machine operator in Sumter, SC until his retirement.

  He was a lifetime member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Sumter, SC where he served as an Usher and former Trustee.

   He was united in holy matrimony to the late Elizabeth Flowers.

    Bobby loved talking, the outdoors, sports, and dressing up looking good.  He would tell you what to do but he told it in love. To know him was to know him.

    Those left to cherish is memory are:  his children:  Sandra (Donald) Flowers, Cornelius (Yolanda) Flowers, Cornell Flowers all of Syracuse, NY, Bishop Bobby Lee (Tonya) Flowers, Jr. of Darlington, SC, Pamela Flowers of Goose Creek, SC, Christopher Brown of North Charleston, SC and Tykia Lemon of Manning, SC; his sister, Gracie Ann Harvin of Lawton, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; special cousins, Annette B. Thompson and Willie Dean Davis both of Sumter, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His special friends:  Brother Stacey Regin and Deacon Robert Baxter both of Sumter, SC.

   Bobby was preceded in death by:  his aunt, Edna J. Buckery; his great granddaughter, Dasia Russell.

Visitation is held at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Bishop Bobby, Jr. and Evangelist Tonya Flowers, 1581 Society Hill Road, Darlington.
