It is with deepest sympathy that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the sudden passing of Mr. Anthony "Tony" McIver of Darlington. Mr. McIver transitioned early Monday morning at his residence, 118 Chestnut Street, Darlington.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Darlington. Burial will follow in Faith Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Anthony Reginald McIver was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 9, 1969 a son of the late James McIver, Sr. and Helen Graham McIver. He entered into his final rest on Monday, July 22, 2019 at his residence.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from Mayo High School Class of 1987. He further his education at Allen University in Columbia, SC.
He was a lifetime member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served faithfully.
“Tony”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a basketball referee at the City of Darlington Recreation Center. He also worked the County Elections as a Poll Worker.
“Tony” was a faithful member of the Pee Dee United Elks Lodge No. 1679 where he held the position of Tiler of the Lodge. He loved the Mayo Golden Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his brother, William Ralph McIver of Landover, MD; a special nephew, Eric “Pooh” Bacote of the home; a nephew, James “Jay” McIver, III of Landover, MD; a niece, Michelle McIver of Tacoma Park, MD; one uncle, George Graham, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Bettye McIver Bacote and James McIver, Jr.
