Mr. Allen E. "Jock" Joyner, Jr.

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Allen E. "Jock" Joyner, Jr. of Mt. Airy, NC, formally of Society Hill, SC.  Mr. Joyner passed on Friday, January 14, 2022 in a nursing facility named Alleghany Health Center in Sparta, NC. 

Memorial service is 1:00PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, Society Hill, SC. 

Obituary

    God called upon His angel, Mr. Allen Eugene “Jock” Joyner, Jr. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Alleghany Health Center in Sparta, North Carolina after a long illness.  He was born inSeptember 19, 1949 in Darlington County, SC a son of the late Allen Joyner, Sr. and Kathleen Elizabeth Robinson-Joyner.

    He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System graduating; a employed at Cockerham Construction Company in Elkin, NC.  He retired after 40 years of service.  

    “Jock”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, enjoyed life and lived it fully carefree.  He was a man that loved his family and friends.

     He was predeceased by siblings: Anthony L. Joyner, Howard M. Joyner, Alean L. Joyner, Kathleen E. Joyner, Wilhelmenia T. Poole and Arthur J. Joyner.

    Those left to cherish his memory are:  his siblings: Laten Joyner, Jack L. Joyner, Bessie Mae Joyner-Patterson, Moses S. Joyner, Larry L. Joyner and Patricia A. Joyner; a special friend, Charile Harrison; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
