Mother Mary Lee Robinson Jett

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mother Mary Mary Lee Robinson Jett of Darlington.  Mother Jett transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, February 1st, 2021 in the Medical University of South Carolina-Florence following an illness. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Peters Family Cemetery, Lawson Grove Road, Hartsville, SC. Interment will follow. 

Life Reflections

 Mrs. Mary Lee Jett was born on June 19, 1936 in Darlington County, SC a daughter of the late Mr. Willie Lee Robinson, Sr. and Mrs. Cora Lee Baldwin Robinson.  She departed this earthly life on Monday, February 1, 2021, after a brief illness.

Mary Lee was joined in holy matrimony to the late Elvin Jett, Sr., and to this union 7 children were born.

Mary Lee received her formal education in Chesterfield County, SC Public School system. She was employed at Sarah Lee Hosiery where she later retire.

Mary accepted Christ early in life and joined The New Covenant Assembly In Christ Jesus, Darlington, SC. She served as the Church secretary for many years and as the mother of the church until her death.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Ann Jett; her spouse, Elvin Jett, Sr.; her parents: Willie Lee Robinson, Sr. and Cora Lee Baldwin Robinson;  her 3 siblings: Sara Lee Robinson Linton, Willie Lee Robinson, Jr., and Ernest Lee Robinson.

Left to cherish her precious memories are: her daughters: Shelby Jean (James) Brown of Tampa, Florida, Evelena Jett of Darlington, SC, Lenora (Westley) Peters and Ruby Mae (Joe) Brown both of Hartsville, SC; two sons, Elvin (Deborah) Jett, Jr. of Darlington, SC and Jarvis Leon (Pamela) Jett, Sr. of Florence, SC; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren;  a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, there will be no visitation to the residence.
