Mother Ethel Louise "Sister" Graham Obituary

In humble submission to the will of God, the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. regret to announce the earthly departure of Mother Ethel Louise Graham. Mother Graham slipped away on Tuesday afternoon, November 16, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. God saw fit to receive his daughter and grant her heavenly wings. For we are reminded in Psalm 55:6, " Oh, that I had wings like a dove, for then would I fly away, and be at rest!" For we know that Mother Ethel Graham is resting in the bosom of the Lord. 

Celebration of Life is 1:00PM on Sunday, November 21, 2021 in the Church Yard of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Graham Family Cemetery (off Elissa Drive).  Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing during this service.

Life’s Reflections

     “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside the still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in the path of righteousness for his name's sake.”                                                                                        Psalm 23:1-3

     On Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC, Mother Ethel Louise Graham entered into her eternal rest.

     Mother Ethel L. Graham was born on March 2nd, 1927 in Darlington, South Carolina a daughter to the late Willie Skinner and Sarah Lee Graham.

     She received her education at Red Hill School in Society Hill, South Carolina – through the Darlington County School System. Through her skills and education, she worked as a Homemaker.

     Mother Ethel L. Graham birth four children: Mary Agnes Graham-Woods, Emanuel “Buck” Williamson, Allean Williamson-Dolford and Charlie “Chicken” Williamson.

     At an early age, Mother Ethel L. Graham joined Flat Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Inspirational Choir, Kitchen Committee, Missionary Society and a member of the Pastor Aide Committee at Flat Creek until her death.

     “Sister”, as she was known around the community, was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Those who knew her found her to be loyal, faithful and above all a believer. Mother Graham loved the Lord and her life exemplified that she had a strong personal relationship with Him. Mother Graham was a faithful solider in the Army of the Lord.

     Those left to treasure the memory of Mother Ethel L. Graham are: three children: Emanuel (Cora) Williamson, Allean Williamson Dolford and Charlie Williamson all of Darlington, SC; five grandchildren: Saundra L Graham, Harold (Diana) Williamson, Felicia Coefield, Calvin Williamson and Michael (Connie) Goodson; seven great-grandchildren: AJ Gandy, Ja’Aron Gandy, Calvin Williamson, Jada Coefield, Eris Goodson, Dorian Goodson and Dalen Goodson; two great–great grandsons; special Friends/Family Members: Frances Pearman & Family, Evelyn Canty, Solomon James (Lee) Williamson, Darlene Curtis, Almetta Wallace Richardson, and Walter (Lizzie) Williamson.

     Mother Ethel L. Graham was preceded in death: by her mother, Sarah L. Graham; father, Willie Skinner; one daughter. Mary Agnes Graham-Woods; one grandson, Calvin Williamson and one daughter-in-law, Crystal June Williamson 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Emmanuel "Buck" and Mrs. Cora Williamson, 1529 Elissa Drive, Darlington.
