Miss Vanessa Renee Dunham

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff and members of the Dunham family announces the passing of Miss Vanessa Dunham of Darlington. Ms. Dunham passed on Thursday, May 25, 2023 in a Florence hospital following an illness. 

Funeral service is 1:00PM on Friday, June 02, 2023 in the Chapel of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend J.D. Blue, Officiating.  Interment is private. 

Obituary

     Miss Vanessa Renee Dunham was born November 16, 1967 in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of Ella Mae Dunham and the late Sammie DeWitt, Sr.  She entered into her final rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at MUSC Health Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina.

     She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools where she graduated from Mayo High School.

     Vanessa was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and a friend to many people.  She was a great cook who loved preparing for her family.

      She was preceded in death by her father, Sammie DeWitt, Sr.; her grandparents: Mack & Clara Dunham who reared her.

     Those left to cherish her memory are:  her mother, Ella DeWitt; three brothers: Sammie DeWitt, Jr., Tyrone (Fanicka) DeWitt and James Dewitt all of Darlington, SC; one sister, Tasha DeWitt of Darlington, SC; a host of aunts and uncles; a great aunt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
