It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Hunter Family announces the sudden passing of Miss Tyshekia Monique Hunter of Darlington, SC. Miss Hunter passed on Sunday, November 7, 2021 in Darlington, SC. 

Funeral service is 2:00PM on Sunday, November 14, 2021 in Hoodfield Cemetery. Interment will follow. Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing for this service. 

Obituary

     Miss Tyshekia “Ty” Monique Hunter was born October 1, 1980 a daughter of Gloria Jean Hunter and the late Freddie Lee Pooler.  She departed from her Earthly home Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her residence.

     She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System graduating from Darlington High School, Class of 1998.

    “Ty”, as she was affectionately called, was a loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

    Those left to cherish her precious memories are:  her mother, Gloria Jean Hunter of Darlington, SC; her son, Da’quan Tyrone Martin of the home; her brothers, Darnell (Christal) Hunter of Bishopville, SC and Sinatra Hunter of Darlington, SC; her aunts: Ernestine Russell, Ethel Ross, Freddie Mae (Johnny) Samuel, Loisteen (Edward) Harrison; her uncles: Priestly Hunter of Florence, SC, Clarence Hunter, Carnell (Andrena) Pooler and Leon (B.J.) Pooler all of Darlington, SC; one great uncle, Ralph Foster of Darlington, SC; special niece, Aquasha Hunter; her special parents and their children: Edward and Elaine Damon of Darlington, SC; Carrie Brown, Tasha Mills (Jimmy) Johnson both of Darlington, SC;  two nieces; three great nephews; her special cousins: Angela Pooler and Darrell (Saundra) Hunter, Flone Benson all of Darlington, SC; her special friends:  Angela Goodson (Quan’s god-mother), Lakisha Goodson, Lakendra Brown, Veronica Goodson, Jamie Goodson, Shavon Lisbon, Antronette McFarland, Jinekia Samuel, Aqua McDaniel, Angie McNeal, Tameka Washington, Shanita Alston and Yasha Dundy; a host of other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents: Priestly and Margaret F. Hunter; her paternal grandparents: Timmons and Gussie Pooler; aunts: Donna Faye Hunter, Margaret Ann Hunter and Ernestine Pooler; uncles: Laverne Pooler, Bobby Gene Pooler and Levell Pooler.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of her mother, 207 Brunson Street, Darlington.
