It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Miss Redel Marie Williamson of Darlington.  Miss Williamson passed early Saturday morning, September 4, 2021 at her residence following a brief illness. 

Funeral service is 11:00am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Church Yard of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Please adhere to social distancing and mask wearing for this service. 

Obituary

     Miss Redel Marie Williamson was born August 5, 1983 in Brooklyn, New York a daughter of Nancy Williamson and the late Winfred Carl Battle.  She entered into her final resting place on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at her residence.

     She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System graduating from Darlington High School Class of 2001.

     Redel spent most of her life in Darlington County where she was gainfully employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Saleeby Center, Hartsville, SC and Faith, Hope & Love, Florence, SC until her demise.

     She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, god-mother, aunt, cousin and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

     Those left to cherish her loving memory are:  her mother, Nancy Williamson of Darlington, SC;  her son, Davonte’ Omarion McKay and her fiancé, Phillip McKay, Jr. of the home; a brother, Michael Williamson of Darlington, SC; two sisters: Kimberly (Raheen) Waymer of Amityville, New York and Tiffany Battle of Brooklyn, New York; her maternal grandmother, Louise Williamson of Darlington, SC; a niece, Kensley Williamson of Florence, SC; a nephew, Jamari Eutsey of Florence, SC; two uncles, Ronald Battle and Rason Battle both of New York; two aunts, Sheila Maxwell-Green and Seandia Battle both of New York; her god-children: Destiny Smith, Nykeria Brockington, Nigel Brockington, Imani Brockington, Samara McKay, Isaiah Thomas, Noah Thomas, Elana Thomas, Nilah Moore and Novah Moore; a special cousin, Sandra Graham; special friends: Niece Williams, Maurice Cooper, Patrice Harris and Nichole Hunter; a host of other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by: her father, Winfred Carl Battle; her maternal grandfather, Jimmy Williamson; her paternal grandparents: Dorothy Battle and William Battle.
