Marquis R. Tedder

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Tedder and Joint families announce the passing of Marquis R. Tedder of Florence, SC. Marquis passed on early Thursday morning, January 18, 2024 at the residence following an illness. 

Funeral service is 11:00am is Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dovesville Highway, Darlington. 

Obituary

    Marquis Rashad Tedder was born February 1, 1990 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a son of Terri Tedder and Rodney Joint.  He entered into his final resting place on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his residence after a short illness.

    He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools and was a member of Living Water Deliverance International Ministries in Bradenton, Florida.

    Marquis was the owner of Slim-Thicken Fashions.  He worked in the nursing profession as a CNA.  Marquis enjoyed fashion, singing, writing and cooking. He was polite, had great manners and cared about people.

    He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents: John Tedder and Linda Tedder; uncles, Darien Gattison, James and Eddie Ross. 

    Those left to cherish his memory are:  his mother, Terri Tedder of Bradenton, FL; his father, Rodney Joint of Darlington, SC; his siblings: Rodney D. Joint, Daysha Joint, Danielle Standifer, Kaiya Graham, Devin Joint, Jalyn Joint, Anttria Joint and Rodney Joint, Jr.; his paternal grandparents: Melvin Joint and Mittie Rea Joint; his uncles: Sammie (Chantel) James and Daniel (Kimberly) James; his aunts: Linda Ross and Wendy (James) Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; his baby Yorkie, Titan.
