Mrs. Mirriam Scott Small

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Mirriam Scott Small.  Mrs. Small passed on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Bethea Baptist Home. 

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the Chapel of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the residence of a cousin, Mrs. Carrie Mae Scott Quick, 100 Tedder Street, Darlington. 

                                                                         ~Obituary~

Mirriam Scott Small was born in Darlington, South Carolina on January 19, 1938 to Jimmy and Aleatha Scott. She was raised by her grandparents, Leroy and Hattie Ham. Mirriam attended the public schools of Darlington County.  Upon graduation, she matriculated to New York City and become a licensed cosmetologist. She was also a Revlon Representative for many years representing the East coast from New York to Georgia. Mirriam was married to Mr. Richard Small.  Richard and Mirriam returned to Darlington some twenty years ago.  Although, Mirriam did not have any children, she helped raised her cousin, Carrie Mae Scott Quick.

Mirriam was a loving and caring person who possessed a sweet personality.  She loved her husband, her family, and her friends.

After the death of her husband, Richard, she became a resident of Bethea Baptist Retirement Community.  Mirriam peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Mirriam leaves precious memories with cousins and friends.  Her presence will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her husband: Richard Small.
