It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Randell Miles of Darlington. Mr. Miles expired on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral Service will be 2:00pm on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Round O Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Faith Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and Thursday, July 4, 2019 from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the chapel of Mitchell-Josey.
~Obituary~
“For now I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” II Timothy 4:6-8
Mr. Randell Miles was born in Darlington, South Carolina a son of the late James Dozier Miles and Bernetha Bristow Miles. He entered into his final resting place on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his residence.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from Mayo High School Class of 1978.
At an early age, he attended St. James United Methodist Church.
Randell lived all of his life in Darlington and was gainfully employed at Hilex Poly (Sonoco) in Hartsville and lastly at Georgia Pacific where he retired.
He was united in marriage to the former Miss Marguerite Williamson and to this union they were bless with a daughter.
Randell was a very caring and giving person and loved doing things for others. We will never forget his beautiful smile and compassionate spirit, always able to rise above and never complain. Randell loved his family but he also loved his #1 canine, “Jake.” His heart of heart is his granddaughter, Destiny Grace, his son-in-law, Ryan and his only begotten daughter, Maranda Leigh. He will be sorely missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife of 31 years, Marguerite W. Miles of the home; his wonderful daughter, Maranda Leigh (Ryan) Dowtin of Clovis, New Mexico; his precious granddaughter, Destiny Grace Dowtin; his three brothers: Chucky (Sharon) Miles, Weldon (Virginia) Miles and James Baker all of Darlington, SC; two sisters: Noreen Baker and Janice (Jeffery) Pinckney both of Darlington, SC; a special uncle, Willie W. Bristow, Jr. of Darlington; 3 loving sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; a special cousin: Marietta Davis; two devoted friends: Johnny Gilbert and George Scipio; a host of amazing nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, James and Bernetha Miles and a brother, Jimmy Bernard Miles.
Visitation for the Miles family will be at the residence, 736 High Hill Road, Darlington.
