Mr. Paul Samuel

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Paul Samuel of Darlington. 

Mr. Samuel expired on Monday, January 20, 2020 in a Florence hospice house. Funeral service will be 2:00Pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at New Zion Baptist Church, 2826 Cale Yarborough Highway, Timmonsville.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

 “God saw the road was getting rough, the hills too hard to climb; so he gently closed his loving eyes and whispered ‘Peace be thine’.”

Mr. Paul Anthony Samuel was born June 8, 1966 in Timmonsville, SC a son of the late David “Jack” Samuel and Cleo Garner Samuel.  He entered his final resting place on Monday, January 20, 2020 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.

He received his formal education in the Florence County Public Schools graduating from Timmonsville High School Class of 1987.

Those left to cherish his memory are:  his siblings: Cleveland Garner, Jr. of Lamar, SC, Joyce Ann Samuel of New York, JoAnn Samuel of the home and Phillip Samuel of Denver, CO; special niece, Lakeidra “Precious” Harrison; three nephews: Demetries “Tony” Samuel, Stephen “Latate” Samuel, Patrick Samuel and Kendrick “Tirrell” Harrison; six grandnieces; two grandnephews; his aunts and uncles: Pastor Alray (Modestine) Samuel, Carolyn (Charles) Thomas, Bessie Samuel, Charles McRay, Gertrude (John) Dixon, Judy (Willie) Anderson, Jimmie (Liz) Garner, Dennis Garner, Minister Mahalia Garner, Doris Garner and Marjorie Garner; his best friend, Gene Dolford; a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: David & Josey Samuel; his maternal grandparents: Cleveland & Louise Garner; several aunts and uncles also preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held a 405 Wells Street, Apt. D-6, Darlington.
