It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Jimmy Fields, Sr. Mr. Fields passed on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Calhoun Convalescent Facility.
Funeral service is 1:00PM on Monday, April 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home.
~Obituary~
Mr. Jimmy Fields Sr. affectionately called “Jim Beam” was born on April 29, 1957, in Darlington County to John T. Nelson and Gladys Benjamin Fields. Jimmy departed from his Earthly life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in St. Matthews, South Carolina after an illness.
Jimmy was united in marriage to Bobbie Jean Fields in 1978. He was a very hard working, outgoing, humorous individual, who never meet a stranger. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife; Bobbie Jean Fields; two daughters: Renee Coward and Sabrina Fields, of Darlington, SC and one son: Jimmy Fields Jr., of Florence, SC; eight grandchildren: Shaketha Coward, Cornelius Brown Jr., Sha’Kira Gattison, JaQuandre Fields, Zikeyha Reed, Jamarius Fields, D’ajae Cooper, and Bryson Richardson; and one great-grandchild: Tylashia Mack all of Darlington, SC; one brother James Fields and six sisters; Bessie Jacobs (Albert Barnett), Emma (Junious) Henderson, and Patricia Jackson, all of Baltimore, MD; Mary (Clayton) Brown of Riegelwood, NC; Susie (Freddie) Williams and Annette (Maurice) Nelson-Dickey of Ft. Myers, Fl.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends which he cared for dearly.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ronnie, Danny, and Junious Fields, Coutney, Quay, Deloris and Baby Boy Fields.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of a daughter, Sabrina Fields, 102 Grand Street, Darlington.
