It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. amounts is the passing of Mr. James Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins passed On Saturday, April 13, 2019 and a Florence medical facility.
Memorial services will be 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at 725 Hollomans Drive, Darlington.

“God saw the road was getting rough, the hills too hard to climb; so he gently closed James loving eyes and whispered ‘Peace be thine’.”
Mr. James Wilkins, Jr. was born in Hartsville, SC a son of the late James Sr. and Annie Mae Wingate Wilkins. After the death of his mother, his father remarried, he was raised by his step-mother the late Bleker Clyburn Wilkins. He departed this life on Saturday, April 13, 2019 in McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System and continued his education in a Utah Technical College and also attended Francis Marion University majoring in Veterinarian but because of his health was unable to finish.
He lived all of his life in Darlington County where he was gainfully employed at Byerly Hospital as Orderly for several years and his last employment was at Southern Office Supply, Hartsville, SC retiring after 25 years.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Annie Mae Addison Wilkins of Florence, SC; five daughters: Tammy Toney of Charlotte, NC, Teresa Wilkins, Rhoda Wilkins both of Hartsville, SC, Tina Wilkins of Darlington, SC and Tenesha Wilkins of Florence, SC; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; his siblings: Jerry (Teresa) Clyburn, Billy Wilkins, Ida M. Cotton and Earl (Geraldine) Wilkins; aunts and uncles; a host nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Wilkins.
Visitation for the Wilkins family will be held at the residence of a daughter, Tina Wilkins, 725 Hollomans Drive, off of mineral Springs Road, Darlington.
