It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Izell Spann, Jr. of Timmonsville. Mr. Spann passed on Friday, October 4, 2019 in a Florence nursing facility.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Center Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hart #2 Cemetery.

Mr. Izell Spann, Jr., better known as “John”, was born in Lee County, South Carolina on February 21, 1945 a son of the late Izell and Henrietta Williams Spann. He departed this life on Friday, October 4, 2019 in Commander Nursing Home after a long illness.
He attended the Darlington County Public Schools. He was a member of Center Baptist Church in Timmonsville, SC.
“John” worked on the Farm until his health fail. He loved working in the garden with his brother-in-law and nephew. “John” was a loving brother, uncle and friend, he will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are: one brother, Donald Spann, one sister, Fannie Mae Spann both of Timmonsville, SC; a devoted sister-in-law, Alice Spann of Timmonsville, SC; a special great nephew, Jaylon Fox; one nephew, Terry (Tonya) Spann; one niece, Teresa Spann; two grandnieces; a great grandniece
He was preceded in death by his parents: Izell Spann, Sr. and Henrietta Williams Spann; one sister, Calperta Spann; two brothers: Maxie Lee Spann and Carl Spann.
Visitation for relatives and friends of Mr. Spann will be held at the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Alice Spann, 3317 Sally Hill Road, Timmonsville, SC.
